What is Happening at our College Campuses? There are so many young adults at risk but the last place you would think it would happen would be on a college campus. Here is what I wrote today: Auburn Student Shot Our prayers and condolences go out to the Burk family for their loss. What has this world come to? This is extremely close to me, I have a daughter at Auburn University and it is scary for her and for our family. This young woman Lauren Burk was found shot on the side of Highway 147 in Auburn Alabama. She later died at the hospital. Her car was found on Campus close to the Dorm she lived in on fire. This woman was popular in her high school and well loved by all. Why are these things happening? There was an earlier incident in 2006 of a woman strangled in Birmingham on the University of Alabama Birmingham Campus and placed in the trunk of her car. The man that murdered her was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison without parole. I think the both women would have chose that also if they had been given the chance.
